Frequently Asked Questions
Our AI predictions are based on historical seismic data, geological factors, and advanced machine learning models. They provide probability-based estimations rather than certainties. The accuracy varies by region and depends on the quality of available data. Predictions typically include a confidence percentage to help you understand the reliability of each forecast.
Real-time earthquake data is sourced directly from the USGS Earthquake Hazards Program and is updated continuously. New earthquakes typically appear in the app within minutes of being detected and verified by seismic monitoring stations.
AI Earthquakes is designed to be battery-efficient. While the app does use network to provide real time earthquake data, we've optimized it to minimize battery usage.
The app requires an internet connection to receive real-time earthquake data and AI predictions. However, previously loaded data and safety information may remain accessible offline.
The color coding for earthquake magnitudes helps you quickly assess severity: Yellow (5.0-5.9) indicates moderate earthquakes that can cause damage to weak structures. Orange (6.0-6.9) represents strong earthquakes capable of causing damage over larger areas. Red (7.0+) indicates major earthquakes with potential for serious damage across extensive areas.
Tsunami warnings in the app are sourced from official warning centers and are triggered by underwater earthquakes of sufficient magnitude and depth. Our system considers factors like earthquake location, depth, magnitude, and proximity to coastal areas. We display official tsunami warnings as soon as they're issued by authorities.
Yes, you can share information about specific earthquakes or predictions with others. Each earthquake and prediction has a share button that allows you to send the details via messaging apps, email, or social media. This feature is particularly useful for alerting family and friends about potential seismic activity in their area.
AI Earthquakes does not collect personal information from users. We don't require registration, and we don't track individual user activity. We may collect anonymous usage statistics to improve the application, but this information cannot be used to identify individual users. For more details, please review our Privacy Policy.
